A Key Trend for Spring Summer 08 - All in One Jumpsuits

Jumpsuits were back on the catwalk for spring summer 09 from floral and frilly at Stella McCartney to cropped at Bottega Veneta and Moschino Cheap and Chic, from luxe at Donna Karen and Missoni to sporty at Topshop Unique. The seventies were also a key influence for all in ones this season. All in ones, jumpsuits and playsuits will also be everywhere on the high street this summer. This year the jumpsuit is the new dress. It appeared on catwalks all over the place and in all sorts of different guises. At Stella McCartney there were beautiful all in one suits in bright florals, at Sonia Rykiel the all in one suits took on a real seventies feel, at Topshop Unique, there were all sort of jumpsuits from cotton boilersuits to mini dungarees. So what is great about the all in one or jumpsuit or playsuit as it is also known?

They are just so easy. When you wake up slightly late in the morning and just don’t have the time or inclination to spend ages coordinating an outfit.. This is where the all in one suit really comes into its own, no coordination needed, no thought needed except perhaps what accessories and shoes to wear.

There is also a certain practicality about an all in one suit. Probably why they are so great for dressing children in. No problem with top riding up or trousers riding down and showing off half of your backside. Many mums will identify with these problems when carrying, playing with and sorting out young children. I can see why they are called play suits as if one were to wish to play in them they would be just perfect giving the wearer a real sense of freedom.

For Spring Summer 09 the All in One, Playsuit or jumpsuit is a great alternative to the dress. Versatile and easy to wear, there is an all in one available for every occasion from a day at the beach to an evening out. The only problem is deciding which one to get.
